Why are Hondas so expensive right now?

0

Hondas are expensive due to worsening inventory shortages at dealerships across the country. A lack of semiconductor chips has resulted in major production problems for most makes of cars. In the case of Honda, consumers may find that their preferred vehicle is considerably more expensive compared to normal prices.

With just 17 days of supply for its vehicles, according to Cox Automotive, Honda is experiencing one of the worst car shortages. It’s on par with Kia and slightly worse than Toyota. For comparison, the industry average today is 33 days. Chrysler currently has the highest day supply with a whopping 98.

Although Honda incentives change from month to month, significant discounts are rare even under normal circumstances. That changed earlier this year when Honda added an unprecedented 0% APR deal and introduced discounts for the first time. However, the best deals were short lived due to supply constraints in much of the United States.

Like most brands, Honda prices are generally dependent on local supply and demand. Unfortunately, even the leases advertised by the brand are expensive. For example, the Civic 2022 has an effective cost of $ 291 per month. That’s a dollar more a month than what you could get with a deal then a year ago.

If you are looking for an offer on a Honda, you may be lucky enough to pay the MSRP. While it can sometimes be a good idea to pay more than the MSRP for a car, truck, or SUV, buyers might find it interesting to look up car prices from multiple dealerships and potentially expand their search box to find a dealer willing to offer the best possible deal.
