The popular 2022 Subaru Forester is now coming to the United States and has the best rental deal of any SUV, according to KBB.

What sets the Forester apart?

Consumer Reports just named the 2022 Forester one of the six best new SUVs under $30,000. According to CR, Forester is a great choice because the compact SUV offers good performance, gets top safety scores, is reliable, fuel efficient and satisfying. The Forester also comes standard with all-wheel drive, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and X mode for better traction in severe weather.

CR rates the 2022 Forester as the best compact SUV for its “spacious interior, excellent visibility, commendable fuel economy, simple controls, comfortable ride and responsive handling.” The CR achieved 28 mpg overall, which is among the best in its class.

The 2022 Forester is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. A CVT automatic is the only transmission offered. Is there a downside to the Forester? CR says, “Acceleration isn’t exhilarating, and engine noise isn’t the most pleasant.”

What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Forester?

The 2022 Subaru Forester gets a modest price increase and comes in six trim levels; The base Forester starts at $26,320, Premium ($29,320), Sport ($30,890), Limited ($33,000), new Wilderness ($33,945) and Touring ($36,420). Price includes destination and delivery charges ($1,125).

Why is leasing a Forester a good deal?

Subaru Forester’s high residual value may still make the compact SUV particularly attractive to lease. You will get a high trade-in value when you return the model at the end of your lease. Although there are generally no Subaru rebates, current lessees may be eligible for a loyalty rebate of up to $500 good on the lease of a new Subaru model.

According to Kelly Blue Book, the 2022 Subaru Forester currently offers the best lease deal under $300 for SUV buyers with a down payment of $2,515 and $255/month for 36 months.
