CFI Financial sponsors the Lebanese Basketball Federation


CFI Financial Group, a multi-regulated FX and CFD brokerage firm, announced that it has signed an agreement to become a major sponsor of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, the governing body for the sport of basketball in Lebanon.

While specific details of the sponsorship deal have yet to be disclosed, achieving “official partner” status often includes a presence on official advertising media and joint digital campaigns. The deal also provides media assets, as well as an enticing opportunity to connect with thousands of basketball fans and online channel subscribers.

The federation was founded in 1947 and represents basketball to public authorities as well as to national and international sports organisations.

Sports sponsorship has long been a way for companies to expand their global reach. In recent months, there have also been numerous sponsorship deals related to less publicized sports, including chess and esports.

These deals are also more standard sponsorship deals with more popular sports, such as football and rugby.

CFI recruited a former minister as brand ambassador

In 2017, CFI launched its CFI-DIFC brand in Dubai as part of the brand’s strategy to further expand its presence in emerging markets while strengthening its premium position in the Middle East.

The broker has actively taken steps to improve its brand awareness over the past couple of years through referrals. In 2021, CFI made headlines by signing former Lebanese information minister George Kordahi as its brand ambassador. The company sought to raise awareness of the online business through an affiliation with the media celebrity.

While some, out of curiosity, speculated on the cost of the operation to CFI Financial, the firm did not reveal an exact figure. Others may question the reason for spending a lot of money to sign the ex-host of the Arabic version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, who is widely regarded as one of the leading TV presenters in the Arab world .

CFI Financial is definitely using the partnership to raise regional awareness of its online CFD trading services and increase the widespread use of its trading platform. The campaign motto, “Empower Yourself, may reflect the nature of this deal.
