We get our first official look at the new Civic Type R thanks to these photos shared by Honda of a prototype model covered in a bit of camouflage. It’s a pretty revealing look at the latest hot hatchback, which looks a lot better than its predecessor but maintains its aggressive stance with a body kit, large rear wing, and serious wheel and tire set.

Still based on the Civic’s four-door hatchback body style, we can see that the new Type R wears Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires wrapped around beautiful black ten-spoke wheels. The red Brembo brake calipers are also visible. A large rear spoiler and three tailpipes dominate the rear view.
