If you are thinking about buying a car this year, know some of the safest ones of 2017, after tests carried out by Euro NCAP
Responsible for evaluating the safety of cars in Europe, Euro NCAP annually publishes a list of brands and models that have obtained the best results in the various areas analyzed. They are the protection of adult occupant (driver and passenger); child occupant protection; pedestrian protection; (1 to 5) according to test performance, performed in different scenarios of accidents potentially resulting in death or injury of the occupants of the car and / or other vehicles and persons involved.
This classification allows an easy comparison of different vehicles and consequent identification of those that best suit the needs of each driver and / or family.
The safety of stars
According to Euro NCAP, “the number of stars reflects the level of performance of the car in the Euro NCAP tests, but it is also influenced by the safety equipment that the manufacturer offers in each market. A high number of stars, besides proving that the test was good, is synonymous that the safety equipment in the tested model is already available to all consumers in Europe. “
In the most recent tests that evaluated the safest cars of the year 2017, the winners were the Volvo XC60 in the category of Best Large SUV; the Volkswagen T-Roc, in the Best Small Size SUV class; the Volkswagen Polo, as Best Utility; the Opel Crossland X, which stood out as Best Small Moped; the Subaru XV and Subaru Impreza, in the Best Small Family class.
Of note among the winners is a model made in Palmela, the T-Roc, Volkswagen.
But not only
In the safety tests carried out by Euro NCAP, there were many cars that got the maximum score of five stars in 2017. This is the case of the Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Mini Countryman, Citroën C3 Aircross, Hyundai i30, Renault Koleos, KIA Rio, Audi Q5, Jaguar E-Pace, among many other models that can be consulted in the list provided by this body.
If you choose to purchase a used vehicle, confirm that it is a certified vehicle and look up your history. If in doubt, seek the advice of a professional in the industry or at least someone who knows about car mechanics.
